Set up The Beach email in Gmail on Android

Open the Gmail app.

  1. Tap your profile picture in the top right.

  2. Tap Add another account.

  3. Tap Other.

  4. Enter [your name]@thebeach.com.

  5. Tap Manual setup if prompted.

  6. Tap Personal (IMAP).

  7. Enter your The Beach account password.

  8. On the Incoming server settings screen, enter the following and tap Next:

    • IMAP server: imap.mailbox.org

    • Port: 993

    • Security type: SSL

    • Username: [your name]@thebeach.com

    • Password: Your The Beach account password

  9. On the Outgoing server settings screen, enter the following and tap Next:

    • SMTP server: smtp.mailbox.org

    • Port: 587

    • Security type: STARTTLS

    • Require sign-in: On

    • Username: [your name]@thebeach.com

    • Password: Your The Beach account password

  10. Choose your sync preferences and tap Next.

  11. Enter an account name if you want one, then tap Next or Done.

  12. Send yourself a test email and check that you can both send and receive.

If it does not connect

  • Check the email address is entered exactly as [your name]@thebeach.com, with no spaces before or after.

  • Check the username is [your name]@thebeach.com for both incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Check the password is your The Beach account password.

  • Check the incoming server is imap.mailbox.org, port 993, security SSL.

  • Check the outgoing server is smtp.mailbox.org, port 587, security STARTTLS.

  • Check Require sign-in is turned on for outgoing mail.

  • Close the Gmail app completely, reopen it and test again.
